SNARK TROPHY REGATTA
SUNDAY 8TH FEBRUARY
SUNDAY 1ST MARCH 2026
Come down to the club on Sunday 8th February and join in the sailing action as Ranelagh competes against DBYC and Canadian Bay for the prestigious Snark Trophy, named in honor of H.M.S SNARK founded in heavy seas at Canadian Bay on Christmas day 1956.
The racing will take place directly in front of the clubhouse, making it perfect viewing from the deck.
To make it fun and easy to follow for everyone (not just sailors!), we’ll have a live commentator on deck throughout the afternoon. They’ll explain:
- What the sailors are trying to do
- Why boats suddenly change direction
- Who’s winning (and why!)
- And how the race is unfolding in real time
Races are short, fast and frequent, involving Pacers, Flying 15’s and Finns, so there’s always something happening on the water. When the racing wraps up, sailors and spectators alike will gather back at the club for drinks and live music from 4pm.
Whether you’re a seasoned sailor, a curious observer, or just enjoying a drink on the deck, this is a great chance to see one of Ranelagh’s most vibrant sporting activities in action as part of our Centenary Celebrations.

What a fantastic way to celebrate our Centenary Junior Tennis Tournament!
The event was a wonderful showcase of inspiring young talent, with players demonstrating resilience, determination and outstanding sportsmanship both on and off the court. Every match was played in great spirit, reflecting not only skill and competitiveness, but also respect for opponents and genuine love of the game.
Congratulations to all of our incredible players for their effort and attitude, and a heartfelt thank you to the families, supporters and volunteers who created such a positive and encouraging atmosphere. The future of our club is certainly in very good hands! 🎾
CENTENARY SWIM

Celebrate 100 years of the Ranelagh Club Mount Eliza in a truly unique way – a centenary swim across the pristine waters of Ranelagh Beach. This is a swim event for everyone. Choose from the 1.2km open water swim or the 400m nipper/novice open water swim.

A coastal Australia Day celebration, encapsulating the essence of Australian culture & lifestyle with the Aus-Music explosion phenomenon LAND DOWN UNDER performing the iconic hits of AC/DC, Dragon, Choirboys, INXS, Jimmy Barnes, John Farnham, Kylie, Models, Men at Work, Olivia Newton-John, Split Enz and more
This will be an unmissable celebration of music taking everyone on a journey through the unforgettable era of the late 70’s and 80’s to relive the Aussie music that shaped a generation and defined our nation. Members $45 Non-Members $55
CENTENARY FAMILY SNORKELLING DAY

🌊 Centenary Family Snorkelling Day – Ranelagh Beach 🐟
Join us for a fun-filled day on the water as part of our Centenary celebrations! Come and experience a guided snorkelling tour of our local reef, where you’ll get up close with fish and fascinating marine life beneath the surface.
Bring your snorkel, mask and sense of adventure and enjoy exploring what’s under our waters.
💲 Cost: $10 per person
🏊 Participants must be competent swimmers
👨👩👧 Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult
Not keen on snorkelling? No worries! ⛵ Why not give sailing a go instead? We’ll have all our sailboats out on the water, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Do you love reading? Would you like the opportunity to get together with other people to discuss a book and express your opinion, likes or dislikes. Then our Book Club is for you. Come along and enjoy a relaxed evening and meet other members whilst enjoying a bite to eat and/or a refreshment.
Monthly meetings are held in the Bistro and all members are welcome to join in.

RANELAGH OPEN WATER SWIMMING
ROWS are a friendly, non-competitive group who swim most weekdays and weekends from the double beach box on Ranelagh Bay.
All Ranelagh members are welcomed to join and experience the benefits from open water swimming in such a terrific part of Port Phillip Bay.
ROWS swim all year round including winter with wetsuits being optional.
Throughout the year ROWS organise various ‘adventure swims’ in differing locations such as Point Leo, Flinders and Mount Martha plus the annual Franny to Ranny swim.
